วันครบรอบ 180 ปี สมณองค์กรยุวธรรมทูต

พี่น้องชาย-หญิงที่รักในพระคริสตเจ้า

             วันนี้ เป็นเวลาแห่งพระพรและภายใต้การเฝ้ามองดูของพระเจ้า เราไม่เพียงแต่มารวมตัวกันที่กรุงเทพฯ เท่านั้น แต่ยังรวมตัวกันด้วยจิตใจร่วมกับกับชุมชนต่างๆ ทั่วโลกเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองโอกาสสำคัญยิ่งนี้ นั่นคือ วันครบรอบ 180 ปีของสมณองค์กรยุวธรรมทูต

             ที่ได้เริ่มต้นจากความเมตตาสงสารที่จุดประกายภายในหัวใจของพระสังฆราชองค์หนึ่ง พระสังฆราช ชาร์ลส์ เดอ ฟอร์แบง เจนสัน ได้เบ่งบานเป็นเปลวเพลิงที่ส่องสว่าง ทำให้ชีวิตของเด็กๆ ที่เปราะบางนับไม่ถ้วนอบอุ่นมาเป็นเวลาเกือบสองศตวรรษ จากชายฝั่งทะเลของประเทศจีนในสมัยโบราณไปจนถึงถนนที่พลุกพล่านในลากอส มรดกของสมณองค์กรฝังแน่นด้วยการแสดงความรัก การสวดภาวนา และการยื่นมือออกไปให้ความช่วยเหลือด้วยความยินดีเมื่อมีความต้องการ โดยการที่เด็กๆ ได้ให้คำมั่นสัญญาตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1843 ว่าจะถวายบทวันทามารีย์วันละหนึ่งบท และเสียสละเงินหนึ่งเหรียญต่อเดือนสำหรับเด็กยากจนทั่วโลก

             ในประเทศไทย เราถือว่าเป็นเวลาพิเศษในช่วงเวลาแห่งประวัติศาสตร์นี้ สมาชิกของสมณองค์กรยุวธรรมทูต เช่นเดียวกับสมณองค์กรอื่นๆ ในองค์กรสนับสนุนงานแพร่ธรรมของสันตะสำนัก(PMS) เชื่อมโยงผู้ที่ปรารถนาจะช่วยเหลือกับผู้ที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลืออย่างยิ่ง ทุกการกระทำที่มีน้ำใจ ทุกบาททุกสตางค์ที่บริจาคเพื่อการนี้ จะส่งออกไปสู่ภายนอก และสานต่อคำมั่นสัญญาแห่งอนาคตที่สดใสสำหรับเด็กที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลือ

             ถึงลูกๆ สมาชิกใหม่ที่รักของเรา ยินดีต้อนรับ! หัวใจของพวกเธอสะท้อนถึงจิตวิญญาณของผู้ก่อตั้งสมณองค์กรนี้ ที่กล้าเชื่อว่าทุกการบริจาคสามารถช่วยยกภาระที่หนักที่สุดได้ พวกเธอได้เข้าร่วมกับสายเลือดแห่งจิตวิญญาณของความเป็นผู้มีความเห็นอกเห็นใจ ผู้สร้างความแตกต่าง อิฐทีละก้อน คำภาวนาทีละบท

             ขณะที่เราเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 180 ปี ขอให้เราอุทิศตนเองให้กับพันธกิจของสมณองค์กรยุวธรรมทูต ขอให้เราให้คำมั่นสัญญาที่จะรักษาเปลวไฟแห่งความเห็นอกเห็นใจให้ลุกโชนอยู่เสมอ ออกไปช่วยเหลือผู้ที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลือจากเรามากที่สุด ขอให้จำไว้ว่า หยดน้ำที่เล็กที่สุดสามารถดับความกระหายได้ มือที่เล็กที่สุดสามารถให้การช่วยเหลือได้ และหัวใจที่เล็กที่สุดสามารถจุดประกายโลกแห่งความแตกต่างได้

180th Anniversary of the Pontifical Society of the Holy Childhood

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

           Today, in this blessed space and under the watchful gaze of God, we gather not only in Bangkok, but in spirit with communities across the globe to celebrate a momentous occasion: the 180th anniversary of the Pontifical Society of the Holy Childhood.

          What began as a spark of compassion in the heart of one Bishop, H. E. Charles de Forbin-Janson, has blossomed into a radiant flame, warming the lives of countless vulnerable children for nearly two centuries. From China's ancient shores to the bustling streets of Lagos, the Society's legacy is etched in acts of love, prayers, and outstretched hands willing to offer help where needed.  With children promising since 1843  to offer one Hail Mary a day and one coin a month for the poor children of the world. 

          Here in Thailand, we hold a special place in this history. The members of the Holy Childhood, like the other Pontifical Missionary Societies connect those who yearn to help with those who desperately need it. Every act of generosity, every baht placed offered to this cause, ripples outward, carrying within it the promise of a brighter future for a child in need.

            To our beloved new members, welcome! Your hearts echo the spirit of the Society's founder, who dared to believe that every offering could help lift  the heaviest burdens. You join a lineage of compassionate souls who have made a difference, brick by brick, prayer by prayer.

             As we celebrate this 180th anniversary, let us rededicate ourselves to the mission of the Holy Childhood. Let us pledge to keep the flame of compassion burning brightly, ever reaching out to those who need us most. Remember, the smallest drop of water can quench a burning thirst, the smallest hand can offer comfort, and the smallest heart can spark a world of difference.  Many blessings on you all.
